The Focus on Life photo challenge rolls along in the month of January with its minimalism theme. This week the prompt from Sally at The Studio Sublime was A Black and White Photo of You.

Nothin’ I like better than taking photos of me….
So grab a bottle o’your favorite eye blurrer and check out my efforts.

First it was a titch challenging to get me lined up with the lens….

Then came my frustration with said challenge.
Hubby says he sees this look quite often.

Decent smile, nice background.

It’s still a bit chilly around these parts in the mornings and late afternoons.
I was dressed for – what else? – taking care of the goats.
They were maaaaing quite loudly in the background because I was NOT tending to them.

So, that’s my black and white story and I’m sticking to it. I did my photo editing in PicMonkey a site I just discovered. I know, I know I am severely behind the times.

Check out everyone else’s efforts:

Great pictures! Did the two different “black and white” qualities come as a surprise to you as it did to me? I took the pictures using my camera’s “classic” filter, and Picmonkey only to crop.

Patty, I cracked up when you said that the first one’s a look your hubby sees quite often – I love that one!! I think your other two are super as well (beautiful you!) and I do love the background in your pics – perfect. I bet the goats really were all wondering why the camera was turned away from them for a change, weren’t they?!

Hehe, I’m sure they were all trying to tell you you had the camera pointed the wrong way. I love the story you build with your photos, beautiful – and I totally agree – look up to something, it’s a sly, beautiful smile!

I like seeing the progression. And it is beautiful locale you live in (and I am imagine those goats underfoot!). So nice to see your beautiful smile ready to take on the day! Enjoy the day! Erin

I took all my pictures in the near miss collage holding a monopod think I would have done better with the camera on the deck railing!. I actually like the second picture… your background is lovely!
