I am sure we can all agree that cancer sucks.

I lost both of my parents to cancers; they were both too young to die.
I’ve had friends this year suffer through the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer.

There has been astounding progress made in fighting this horrible plague but so much more money is needed for research. To that end The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is having their main fundraising event of the year – Light the Night. It’s an hour long fundraising walk held at sunset and the participants hold illuminated balloons as they walk to Light the Night!

The funds raised through this event allows the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to provide support services and advocacy for those lifesaving treatments people diagnosed need. It also allows them to fund the most promising cancer research.

It’s a casual, fun evening that everyone can participate in – you don’t have to be “in shape” or anything like that. You just have to want to help raise money and go for a nice walk at sunset.
