There has not been much Yurtgress but in the next few days there will be a fair bit reported. Woo hoo! For today I am thrilled to show you the S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G. wool area rug that the wonderful folk at Natural Home Rugs sent me to review. I was one lucky woman when this L.A. based company contacted me as they have a wide and gorgeous selection of handcrafted and designer rugs to fit any decor!
I have been seeking a rug for the bedroom but given that I wanted a natural fiber rug and the plain fact that there were so many other needs more pressing I just didn’t think I would ever see this….
….I am so happy! Now of course living in a round house I would have needed a trapezoid shaped rug to fit my dream vision but this 6 x 9′ (retail $325) beauty does an excellent job of adding some warmth to the bedroom. I just love the flow of the colors. In person it makes the room look a bit larger which is always nice. The yurt is just a bit over 1,000 sq. ft. so anything that gives the illusion of size is a good thing.
|Of course nothing gets done without feline assistance.|
The colors of the rug – blue, grey and brown – help to ground the bed and really do warm up the room. The rug is a marvel of the carpet maker’s trade; tightly woven 80% wool and 20% cotton fibers for a feel that is that glorious rough/soft that one associates with a good wool rug. My bare feet are happy when they touch it.
It was delightful to step out of bed this morning onto a carpeted surface instead of onto the cold bamboo flooring. A very nice change – especially in winter. You can see the variations in the pattern in the photo above and note how pretty it truly is. It complements my quilt beautifully. Given that my bedroom paint was chosen to go with that quilt it’s good that the rug works with it too, right? I do need to now find a new blanket because it hangs over the sides and it’s green so I have some clashing going on.
Natural Home Rugs offers rugs in wool, jute, sea grass, mountain grass and sisal. You can even order a custom rug! In addition to their line of natural fiber rugs they have Comfort Mats. If you do not know what one is you are really missing out. They are gel cushion mats for areas where you do a lot of standing. I have them in my kitchen and while mine did not come from Natural Home Rugs, I can tell you that they make a huge difference when I have long days in the kitchen; my back, knees and hips do not hurt as badly when I stand on the comfort mats. I am so happy the hubby bought them for me.

Disclosure: I received a free rug from Natural Home Rugs for my honest opinion. I received no monetary compensation for this post.
