Broken Teepee is a collaborative effort – there are two people who make it work; Patty (59) does most of the reading, all of the cooking and baking and anything to do with the cats. John (66) does all of the projects around the yurt, all of the gardening and anything that needs to be built from thin air. He will occasionally add his thoughts on a book or cause.
We both love our life in Montana and now that John is fully retired we hope to explore our new home state and its environs and share those adventures a little bit more. John is very involved in educating about Climate Change so we endeavor to live as gently upon the Earth as we can.
I get asked about the name of the blog. When we bought our lot here in paradise it had the beautiful views we were looking for and two other erm, attributes; a lot of weeds and a broken teepee. Yes, it had a teepee in pieces all over the lot. So using the advice of a friend I adopted the name Broken Teepee – it was original and unique and there was a personal story attached that made me smile.
I enjoy working with brands to showcase various products or events for the readers of Broken Teepee so if you would like to have your brand featured please contact me at the email address above.
