It was time to bake for the firemen again and I saw this recipe in Ladies Home Journal and it looked easy and delicious so it was my choice for their treat. It was all going very well until my wire whisk on my mixer decided to break in the middle of whipping the egg yolk/hot sugar mixture.
Not. Good. Times.
I had the other mixer bowl in the refrigerator full of whipped cream so it was a slow turnover to get the mousse base whipped. Fortunately the baking gods were with me because it all did manage to come together into a lovely mousse. I have now ordered a new whisk for my 32 year old KitchenAid. I suppose at that age it’s about time something broke down….
