This little postcard book is just full of fluff and fun. Whether you are someone who has kept chickens as pets or for eggs – like the Happy Chickens here on the Farm – or you just appreciate a pretty or colorful bird this book is for you.
The Beautiful Chickens Postcard book has 30 cards that you can use to mail a note to a friend or to hang on the refrigerator if you want to appreciate a particularly pretty bird. The photos are sharp and clear – the birds look like feathered supermodels! You could even frame them to make a display in a country chic kind of room.
The back of the postcard is as you would expect. There is room for an address and a short note. You will also find the type of bird and whether it is a rooster or hen. At the bottom there is a short description of the breed.
I have to admit that before we moved on to our little farm I had not given chickens a lot of thought. It was only when we started buying chicks that I learned just how many different kinds of chickens there were. Some of them are truly beautiful birds. I am particularly fond of the ones with feathered feet or with the funny little topknots. Don’t ask me the breed names – I barely remember the names of our chickens; New Hampshire Reds and Leghorns.
This book would be an ideal gift for anyone you know who loves chickens. Or for the someone you know who wants to keep them but can’t just yet. I can tell you it made me smile just looking through it.
