As much as we might not want to think about it yet the holidays will soon be upon us. It’s time for the Holiday Gift Guide. I’ll be sharing some great gift ideas for everyone on your shopping list. I will have a tab at the top of the blog so you can refer back if you need.
QuartoKnows sent me a delightful selection of products from the Royal Horticultural Society to peruse and enjoy at no charge and I now share them with you. They will make lovely holiday gifts – or a gift for any occasion for the person who, like me, loves a touch of the old school.

Holiday Gift Ideas
I will admit it, there is a big part of me that loves pen and paper. You already know that I adore books so if you combine those two passions you must realize that when it comes to keeping track of my schedule I do it old school – with a planner. It can’t be that I am alone in this. There is also another radical thing about me – I send mail. Real through the postal system, with a stamp on it, mail.
The Pleasure of Writing in a Real Book
If I had known about this delightful Wild in the Garden Diary prior to my purchase for 2018 you can be assured that it would be in use. As it is I am going to use it for a sort of daily recollection of the day. Yes, as a journal of sorts. I have long wanted to start a journal; with a diary this compelling I will have no excuse not to.
I cannot express enough just how lovely this book is. Here are the formal details:
The RHS Wild in the Garden Diary 2018 celebrates British wildlife. It is illustrated with photographs of birds, mammals, amphibians and insects that may be found in gardens, plus tips on how to manage your garden to enhance the wildlife potential and thereby add interest and enjoyment.
Illustrated with full colour photographs this week-to-view diary includes an internal storage pocket and ribbon marker.
A Gift for the Flower Lover
If you have someone in your life who loves flowers, I have a gift idea for you. This pair of beautifully bound books would make a lovely combination; the RHS Floral Address Book and the RHS Desk Diary. The address book is straightforward; with a simple illustrated banner along the top. The illustrations are stunning; I swear I could stare at just one for hours. Looking at the two diaries it will be a hard choice for me between cute animals and pretty flowers.
