The hubby and I have friends who have a very enthusiastic dog. The trouble he would get in to was legendary. He is a beautiful dog and a breed I’d never heard of until I met Sarge – a Flat Coated Retriever. Since Sarge has done so many entertaining things our friends, Barb and Dan Arnsan decided to write and illustrate a book about his adventures. It’s called Sarge’s Shenanigans and it’s really delightful.
The illustrations are adorable and every time I look through the book I see something new. They are incredibly detailed and an absolute joy. It’s a book that will be enjoyed over and over.
As he goes through the book Sarge collects medals. His master was in the Marines – that’s how he got his name. And there was something very special on one page.
You see Dan was on the fire company with the hubby. Isn’t that the coolest thing? The hubby is immortalized in a book! And I didn’t even see it at first. I just love it.
Barbara Arnsan is a retired second grade teacher and she is a seriously talented ceramicist. Dan Arnsan is a retired college professor/librarian and he taught children’s literature. I would love for you all to check out this adorable book. It would make an excellent gift for Christmas or any upcoming birthdays.
