It is the season for giving thanks. If you ask me we should be thankful all year round and I do believe that most of us are but we really concentrate that feeling on the fourth Thursday in November. At least we do in the United States. From Thanksgiving we launch ourselves into the frenzy of the holiday gift giving season – although Hanukkah comes as early as I ever remember it being this year and I’ve seen various references to Thanksgivukkah. heh
But back to the simple beauty of being thankful; thankful to just be happy and alive.Thankful for the love of a furry pet. Thankful for the warmth of a hug when you need one. Thankful for a friend to talk to – whether that be in person or online. Thankful for the taste of chocolate. I’m not just using that as a clever segue – I am truly thankful for the taste of chocolate! But that being said……
Merci Chocolates are truly delicious; smooth, rich and flavored with some of those perfect pairings that just make chocolate sing. Like hazelnut almond, coffee cream and my favorite praline cream.
When you open that box you are entering a world of delicious. Not to mention pretty. I think they are presented in such a lovely way. Chocolate does not last long around me – I readily admit to my inability to control myself around it but if it did Merci Chocolates would look so pretty in a candy dish as part of a dessert buffet.
They line up so beautifully in a dish. But alas, mine are all gone. I did let the hubby have one….or two.
So who am I going to Share a Thank You with this holiday season? My family of course even though they live so far away. I’m hoping to be able to actually see them this year as I’ve acquired a camera for computer for the first time. That will make things very special I believe. I am also sharing with the homeless shelter in Missoula – they do an awful lot of good work and I just sent them two big boxes of Pricilla’s soap for their clients. When I make the soap sometimes I get air bubbles or the soap unmolds badly. The soap is still good soap but I can’t sell it. This is the soap that hubby and I use but I had way more than we would ever use. I contacted them and they were thrilled to accept it. They said that toiletries were always on their list of needs. The person I wrote to said that a lot of homeless people have skin issues and she thinks the goat’s milk soap will help them – and she thanked me. So we were both thankful; me for being able to help and her for receiving the soaps. Pricilla just chewed her cud.
