I received a free copy of Our Love Could Light the World from TLC Book Tours for my honest review.

About the Author:
I received this book in the mail, looked at it and couldn’t remember accepting it for review. Then I searched my emails found out I did and figured I must have been in one of my “let’s stretch my reading” moods. I really should curtail them when it comes to short stories. It never works for me with short stories. Even in a book like this when they are rather connected and contain the same characters. I still feel like it is all going on somewhere over my head. I am just not smart enough for short stories.
In this series the reader is introduced to a really ill behaved group of individuals that make up a family. The mother, Livinia finally has enough of her alcoholic husband and runs off with her boss who also drinks but he at least has loads of money. The kids are rude, foul, mean, and in need of a spanking. Each individual story follows some crisis or event in the life of Livinia, her current husband, ex-husband, child or sister in law. Very little that is happy occurs. In fact everything just short of murder occurs and depending on how you view abortion maybe that does too.
Having read the book straight through I really needed some relief. It WAS well written it was just overwhelmingly depressing. Gah. No more short stories….
