Just about anywhere to be honest. A little vacation would be heavenly. But it’s not in my cards. But a girl can have travel dream, right. That is when it is time to zip around the internet. There are so many travel sites you can just hop from one to the other to the other without leaving your couch. Admittedly it’s not the same as lying on a beach in Kona, but at least you don’t have to look at the same old views, right?
I thought I would give it a whirl and get my travel dreams going with a little trip to the beach. Now, I don’t like to lie on the beach but walking on one in the sunset is just fine by me. The hubby and I have been lucky enough to have done that in Hawaii, Florida, the Bahamas, St. Thomas and St. John. Just thinking about the warm and sunny places we have been warms my little heart. See, I’m relaxed already. Virtual travel isn’t so bad, right?
Back to Where I’ve Been
What if I was dreaming of a vacation a little further away? How about a return to Paris. I’ve been there but the hubby has not. He always said that he was not all that fond of museums and cathedrals but he was surprised on our trip to Rome and Florence. I do believe he would enjoy the City of Light.
I would go back to Italy in a heartbeat. One trip to that country is never sufficient. Florence was unbelievably beautiful and I could spend a week in the Uffizzi Gallery and still not see it all. And the Duomo? Oh.My.Heavens. I could stand and stare at it all day long.
Of course there are many places I’ve visited that I’d love to see again. New York is one of my favorite cities and I miss it terribly. When we lived in New Jersey we would go up to the city at least four times a year. Since we moved to Montana I haven’t seen the city in over 12 years.
The Beauty of Travel at Home
But living in this beautiful state does offer some tradeoffs. I have a traveler’s playground in my backyard. I am not that far from two of the most beautiful National Parks in the country. I would love to go back to Glacier and we are hoping to do so. We were planning a trip this year but as always something got in the way. Fortunately we did get to tour the Beartooth Highway. Talk about beautiful drives in Montana!
