I just love working in my big kitchen. Although I suppose by today’s standards it is a small kitchen but after living in the fifthwheel for as long as I did this kitchen is HUGE.
I decided to not extend the countertop along the hallway wall and to not put cabinets in as well. I thought I would get more effective use of the space with shelving and it saved me a fortune. I am very happy with how it has worked out. I have been working with the system for a few months now and it makes things very easy.
I have two sets of heavy metal shelves.
On one side I have all of my baking supplies all nicely labeled and easy to grab when I need them.
On the bottom are my spices and other pantry and useful items like my cake turner and cookie cutters.
On the other side are my dishes (for now – the hubby is going to fix up the big drawer to hold them. In his spare time :0 ) all the stuff he needs to make his coffee and other pantry stuff. My mixing and storage bowls are on top.
I store stuff I don’t use much on the bottom next to the last cabinet.
I think the open look really compliments the yurt’s style.
